The short version

  • NewSelf sells compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide only, with the same price at every dose and no membership fee.
  • Every weight-loss plan carries a three-month commitment; canceling early triggers a fee equal to the full retail monthly price.
  • Once a doctor approves your prescription, orders can't be canceled or refunded.
  • FDA sent NewSelf a warning letter on February 20, 2026 over labels and claims that implied FDA approval.
  • It serves 48 states plus Puerto Rico, not Mississippi or Louisiana.

NewSelf is a cash-pay telehealth service that sells compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide at flat prices that sit near the low end of the market. The trade-off is in the fine print: a mandatory three-month commitment, an early-cancellation fee, no refunds after approval, and an FDA warning letter from February 2026 about how the company marketed these drugs. If you're sure you'll stay on treatment for at least three months and you've already decided compounded is right for you, it can be an inexpensive route. If you're still deciding, the terms work against you.

We haven't been NewSelf patients. This review is built from the company's published pricing, policies, pharmacy disclosures, and regulatory records as of October 2026.

What NewSelf offers

NewSelf sells two weight-loss products, both compounded weekly injections:

  • Semaglutide+: compounded semaglutide with vitamin B12 and glycine, listed in doses from 0.25 mg to 2.5 mg.
  • Tirzepatide+: compounded tirzepatide with vitamin B6 and glycine, listed in doses from 2.5 mg to 15 mg.

There's no brand-name Wegovy, Ozempic, Zepbound, or Mounjaro, and no oral GLP-1. The site also lists B12 injections and ondansetron (an anti-nausea medication) starting at $74 a month, and says NAD and a peptide protocol are coming.

The added vitamins and glycine matter for one reason: they make these products a different formulation from any FDA-approved drug. NewSelf's own disclaimer says its compounded medications are not FDA-approved and haven't been evaluated by FDA for safety or effectiveness. If you want to understand what that means in practice, our guide to brand-name vs. compounded GLP-1 prescriptions covers it.

Pricing: what the site actually shows

NewSelf's prices are low, but the site presents several sets of numbers that don't line up neatly. Here is what appeared on its pages in late October 2026:

Where it appearsSemaglutide+Tirzepatide+
Product card, listed price$134.99/mo$224.99/mo
Product card, "as low as"$99.97/mo$144.49/mo
Other "starts at" listings$199/mo$399/mo

A separate "End of Year SALE" plan grid lists $349.97 a month on a monthly plan, $249.97 a month paid quarterly, $224.97 a month paid every six months, and $194.97 a month paid annually, with one to three free months on the longer plans. That grid doesn't clearly say which drug it applies to, and the site doesn't explain which plan unlocks the "as low as" prices.

What is consistent: NewSelf says every dose costs the same, there's no membership fee, and "the price you see at checkout is exactly what you'll pay." Treat the checkout screen as the real quote and screenshot it before you pay.

What the price includes

According to NewSelf's FAQ, the price covers the doctor's visit, medication at any dose, overnight shipping, and a personalized metabolic weight plan. Ongoing support comes from a care team the site describes as AI support plus nurses. The site doesn't say lab work is included or required, so ask before you start if your own doctor would want baseline labs.

The commitment and refund rules

This is the section most people skim and later regret. NewSelf's refund policy spells out the following:

  • Three-month commitment. All weight-loss programs, semaglutide and tirzepatide alike, require three months, because NewSelf ships three months of medication up front. This applies no matter which payment plan you pick.
  • Early-cancellation fee. Cancel before the three months are up and you owe a fee equal to the program's full retail monthly price. That applies to monthly payment plans too.
  • Before the doctor visit: you can request a refund by email, but you get back $99 less than you paid.
  • After approval: once the prescription is approved and sent to the pharmacy, the order is non-cancellable and no refunds are issued, whether or not it has shipped.
  • If the doctor declines you: full refund, no fees.
  • Changing the prescription after it's sent: a $150 re-processing fee, plus another doctor review.

Payments renew monthly until you cancel, and you can cancel from your dashboard, but canceling doesn't waive the early-cancellation fee if you haven't finished the three months.

Before you pay

The practical cost of trying NewSelf is three months of medication, not one. If side effects, a new diagnosis, or a cheaper insurance option could plausibly make you stop in the first month, factor in the cancellation fee before comparing NewSelf's monthly price to a provider that bills month to month.

The February 2026 FDA warning letter

On February 20, 2026, FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research sent a warning letter to NewSelf Limited, doing business as NewSelf. The letter came from the agency's Office of Compounding Quality and Compliance after FDA reviewed newself.com in December 2025. FDA's main objections were:

  • Labels that implied NewSelf made the drugs. Product images on the site showed compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide labeled "NewSelf," which FDA said suggested NewSelf was the compounder when it isn't.
  • Claims that implied FDA approval. Lines such as "same active ingredient as Ozempic® & Wegovy®" and FAQ entries about the FDA-approved uses of Wegovy and Zepbound, which FDA said suggested the compounded products were approved or equivalent.

FDA said these made the products misbranded under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and asked for a written response within 15 working days, including the names of the entities actually producing the drugs.

What the letter is not: it isn't a recall, and it isn't a finding that a specific batch was contaminated or mis-dosed. It's about marketing and labeling. Still, the request that NewSelf identify who makes its products points to the same gap we found on the site today: the dispensing pharmacy isn't named. We did not find a public FDA close-out letter for this matter in what we reviewed.

Pharmacy, LegitScript, and the company behind it

Pharmacy

NewSelf's own pages describe its pharmacies differently in different places: "503A State Licensed Pharmacy Partners" on the homepage, "FDA-registered 503B & 503A compounding pharmacies" in the FAQ, and "US-licensed pharmacies" elsewhere. None is named. Its terms say you can direct your prescription to a pharmacy of your choice by emailing support before you order, which is worth doing if you want a pharmacy you can look up yourself. Our guide on how to verify a GLP-1 pharmacy walks through the license check.

LegitScript

NewSelf says it is LegitScript certified and links to LegitScript's lookup tool. That lookup loads dynamically, and we couldn't confirm the listing from it during our review, so run the check yourself at legitscript.com before you enter payment details.

The company and its terms

The terms of use name NewSelf Limited LLC at a registered-agent address in Sheridan, Wyoming, and describe it as a technology platform working with independent healthcare professionals. The FDA letter went to a New York City address. The terms were last updated October 10, 2023, and they say Georgia law governs while the arbitration clause sends disputes to JAMS arbitration in San Diego under California law. That inconsistency won't matter to most patients, but it tells you the paperwork hasn't been tightened up recently.

States, timing, and shipping

NewSelf says it operates in 48 states and Puerto Rico. It excludes Mississippi and Louisiana. The company says most patients who sign up Monday through Thursday get medication within 72 hours, and that it doesn't ship on Fridays. Shipping is overnight and cold-packed, and lost or damaged packages are reshipped at no cost.

Who NewSelf fits, and who should look elsewhere

Best for committed cash-pay patients

NewSelf

NewSelf fits someone who has already talked through compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide with a clinician, expects to stay on it for at least three months, and wants one flat price even at higher doses. It's a poor fit if you want brand-name medication, insurance billing, month-to-month flexibility, or a named pharmacy before you pay.

  • Same price at every dose, no membership fee
  • Full refund if the doctor declines you
  • Overnight shipping included
  • Three-month commitment and early-cancellation fee
  • No refunds after approval
  • FDA warning letter in 2026; pharmacy not named

Alternatives worth comparing

  • Month-to-month compounded options: providers such as HealthRX and GobyMeds sell compounded GLP-1s without a three-month lock-in (GobyMeds sells bundles with no auto-renewal; HealthRX lets you cancel future renewals by email). Our under-$200 budget comparison puts NewSelf next to cheaper rivals.
  • Brand-name, direct from the manufacturer: if you'd rather have an FDA-approved product, compare the manufacturer cash programs in our LillyDirect and NovoCare guide.
  • Your own doctor: if you have insurance, start with coverage before paying cash anywhere.

Before you sign up: a checklist

  1. Confirm your state. If you live in Mississippi or Louisiana, NewSelf can't treat you.
  2. Get the checkout price in writing. Screenshot the plan, the per-month figure, and the billing interval before you pay.
  3. Do the three-month math. Multiply the monthly price by three and add nothing else; that's your minimum spend.
  4. Ask which pharmacy will fill it. Email support for the pharmacy name and whether it's a 503A or 503B, then check its license. Or ask to direct the prescription elsewhere.
  5. Check LegitScript yourself. Use LegitScript's public lookup for newself.com.
  6. Know when to get help. Dose changes belong to your prescriber, not a support agent. Severe stomach pain that won't ease, repeated vomiting, signs of dehydration, or signs of an allergic reaction need prompt medical care, not a portal message.
Is NewSelf legit?

It's a real, operating company that publishes its terms and says it's LegitScript certified. It also received an FDA warning letter on February 20, 2026, about labels and claims that implied its compounded drugs were FDA-approved. Legit and low-risk aren't the same thing, so read the commitment terms before paying.

Can I cancel NewSelf after the first month?

You can cancel from your dashboard, but NewSelf's refund policy charges an early-cancellation fee equal to the full retail monthly price if you leave before the three-month commitment ends. That applies even on monthly payment plans.

Does NewSelf take insurance?

No. NewSelf is cash-pay, and it sells compounded medications only. If you have coverage for Wegovy or Zepbound, that will usually be a separate path through your own doctor or a provider that handles prior authorization.

Why does NewSelf add B12 or glycine?

NewSelf sells its semaglutide with B12 and glycine and its tirzepatide with B6 and glycine. That makes them different formulations from any FDA-approved product. Ask the prescriber why the additive is included and whether a plain formulation is available.

Did NewSelf respond to the FDA warning letter?

FDA asked for a written response within 15 working days. Responses aren't usually published, and we did not find a public close-out letter in what we reviewed. You can search FDA's warning letter database for updates.
